A Practically Perfect Broadway Junior musical!
Based on one of the most popular Disney movies of all time and the Broadway musical that played for over 2,500 performances and received multiple Olivier and Tony Awards nominations, Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins is capturing hearts in a whole new way: as a practically perfect Broadway Junior musical!
The jack-of-all trades, Bert, introduces us to England in 1910 and the troubled Banks family. Young Jane and Michael have sent many a nanny packing before Mary Poppins arrives on their doorstep. Using a combination of magic and common sense, she must teach the family members how to value each other again. Mary Poppins takes the children on many magical and memorable adventures, but Jane and Michael aren’t the only ones upon whom she has a profound effect. Even grown-ups can learn a lesson or two from the nanny who advises that “Anything can happen if you let it.”
Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins JR. is an enchanting mixture of irresistible story, unforgettable songs and breathtaking dance numbers.

hold auditions at the classes on Sept 15th and 17th in
order to determine which students will play which part. In the month of
Sept, we will be preparing for auditions. Our preparations include learning
songs from the show, becoming familiar with characters, learning a dance
audition song (again from the show), and doing exercises that help in areas of
characterization, rhythm, stage presence, etc. It is during the first month and
following the auditions, that the instructors will set goals for each student.
Make Up Classes:
Students are welcome to make up classes! So, if they miss a class on Tuesday, they may come to a class on a Thursday. We actually encourage this so that they can spend time with the other students. Please give us as much notice as possible if your child will miss class or if they plan to attend a make-up, as we make plans based on who we expect at each class.

The narrator of the story, is a good friend to Mary Poppins. An everyman, Bert is a chimney sweep and a sidewalk artist, among many other occupations. With a twinkle in his eye and a skip in his step, Bert watches over the children and the goings-on around Cherry Tree Lane. He is a song-and-dance man with oodles of charm who is wise beyond his years. Must be a strong singer, dancer, and actor.Gender: MaleVocal range top: F4Vocal range bottom: B2
All students must be registered to audition for Mary Poppins JR. Audition preparations will be done in class. Students will be taught songs, sides and choreography. Based on which parts they are most interested in, they will be given appropriate choices, from Mary Poppins JR, to use as part of their audition. Auditions will be held in class at the end of September. The auditions will be used to determine casting and goals for each student. As part of the class, students will be working towards those goals specifically developed for each student.
