Dorothy finds herself in the land of the Munchkins, and must journey to see the Wizard of Oz. Her path takes her past fantastic places, and endears her to the Scarecrow, the Tin Woodman, and the Lion along the way. Each receives his dearest wish after the long journey.

This class focuses on acting, music, dance—all of the performance elements of a musical. The class will include auditioning, characterization, movement, non-verbal acting, theatre terminology, vocal performance, blocking and musical theatre dancing. Students will work with a script (Wizard of Oz) leading to a presentation at the end of the year. The class will focus on the process of creating a production as well as giving students the opportunity to perform.

Students will have the option of attending on Monday nights OR Friday nights.  Both classes will work towards a production of Wizard of Oz.  This will allow students to attend on the alternate class date if they have conflicts that pop up throughout the year.  There will also be BOTH days where students from both classes are expected toa attend (see dates). Each class will be capped to allow for individual attention in both classes.  Formal and informal auditions will be held in class.  Students with all levels of experience are invited to participate. The class runs from Sept, 2018 – June 2019. We will using rolling registration until the class reaches capacity. ALL students who register participate in the class and WILL have a part in the show.
