Coffee House Auditions

Coffee House Auditions Due Date: Sept. 19, 2026

Calling all members of the community!!!

Interested in auditioning for Coffee House?

  1. Figure out what you’d like to do. Any talent is welcome for Coffee House. In the past, we’ve had students, parents, community members and staff members who have sang, played an instrument (sometimes at the same time), danced, did a skit, did a monologue, did a forensics piece, did standup comedy, did magic tricks, etc.
  2. Sign up for Coffee House using the link below (or by registering using your parent portal account). If you are a member of the community or a parent, just make yourself a student record within your family.
  3. Prepare your audition material.
  4. Record your audition. You don’t have to perform the entire piece. However, we do need to know how long your “act” is. So, be sure to do step 5! If you’d prefer to audition “live”, just contact us and we’ll set up an audition. Make sure to submit your video by Sept. 19th!
  5. Fill out the audition form. E-mail it to contact_us@NotJustDance.net
  6. Wait to hear from us as to whether you were accepted into the program.
  7. IF you are accepted, don’t forget to secure your tickets. Everyone will want to get a ticket to this event so you can sit in the room and partake in all of the wonderful goodies that will be prepared for this event.
Audition Form (Coffee House)

Frozen Auditions

Frozen Kids Auditions Saturday, Aug. 22 from 10 am - 1 pm

This is a musical theatre class designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of performance in a fun and supportive environment.

Students must be registered for the class: Frozen Kids in order to audition. More Information/Register.

Auditions will be held during the first class, Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 10 am – 1 pm. Note: Students stay for entire time as this is a regular class for the Frozen Kids students. If your student will be absent on Aug. 22, please contact us ASAP as we will need to schedule another time for the audition BEFORE Aug. 22.

Requirements:

The good news is… everyone registered for this class is IN.  The auditions are to help us determine which parts match best to which students. Students stay for the entire time. They will be taught a song and we’ll do games/activities to help us determine casting of Frozen Kids. They will also be learning a dance.

If your student would like to prepare a song and/or monologue, they may. Just let us know, when they check in, that they plan to audition using a song and/or monologue they’ve prepared. However, students do not have to prepare anything for this audition, if they don’t want to!

If you have concerns about the audition process, please contact us. Not Just Dance offers workshops to help students prepare for auditions.

If they are planning to prepare something for this audition, here’s some guidance on preparing:

  • Prepare 32 bars of a song. No accompanist will be provided. We prefer that students do NOT prepare a song from Wicked or Hamilton. Please bring: a backing track (instrumental/karaoke version) of the piece you’ve been using to prepare and a device to play your track (e.g., phone, tablet, speaker). Make sure your device is charged and the track is easily accessible for a smooth audition experience.
  • Prepare a 1 minute monologue. Please ensure that your monologue is age appropriate. (No adult themed monologues)
What to Bring for Auditions:
  • Appropriate shoes (jazz shoes or sneakers)
  • Fill out the Audition Form.  Bring it, along with a small photo.  (If a resume/headshot is available, please bring that along with the Audition Form). 

ALL registered students will participate in the production and will be cast in the show.

Hana Scarlatoiu

Hana is a recent undergraduate from Muhlenberg College, where she majored in Theatre with a minor in Creative Writing/Journalism. While at Muhlenberg, she performed in numerous departmental theatre and dance productions and choreographed for departmental student dance concerts. Additionally, attended and performed at the American College Dance Association’s (ACDA) 2023 and 2024 conferences and the 2024 Women in Dance Leadership conference. Recently, she’s performed with the Allentown Public Theatre and in Muhlenberg’s production of Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, playing a Somebody. Her last choreographic work was created for her school’s Reset: New Dances 2025, titled What’s Behind the Radio? The work was featured at the Flair Dance Festival in Collingswood, NJ this past June. Hana has, as well, been a teaching artist with Traveling Players Ensemble (Tysons, VA) and is a part time model in the DC and Lehigh Valley areas. She is so excited to be joining this community of performing artists and share her love for dance.
