Twisted Tales Auditions

Twisted Tales Auditions Auditions will be held in class!

This is an entry-level theatre class designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of performance in a fun and supportive environment. Students will spend time playing theatre games and engaging in activities that teach core theatrical skills in preparation for auditions. Auditions will be held in class—there is no separate audition process. All students will prepare for auditions as part of the curriculum.

Class activities include:
  • Exploring and becoming familiar with characters
  • Exercises in characterization, rhythm, stage presence, and more
Auditions are typically held in the November/December timeframe to determine casting for the class production.

Shrek Auditions

Shrek Auditions Auditions will be held in class!

All students must be registered to audition for Shrek JR. This is an intermediate level class. Audition preparations will be done in class & students are expected to practice on their own. The auditions will be used to determine casting.

ALL registered students will participate in the production and will be cast in the show.

Students will pick their own song and monologue (done either in class or, if the student is taking private lessons, in their private lesson sessions). At the audition, students will have a “cold” dance audition, meaning that they will be taught choreography at the audition. They have also been taught additional choreography in their class. They might be asked to present previously taught choreography in addition to the choreography taught at the audition.

There is a possibility that some students might be asked to do cold reads at the audition. Students should be VERY familiar with Shrek (reviewing the scripts that have been provided and listening to all of the music).

All students who register by Oct. 5th may participate in the auditions.

Auditions will be held, in class, on Monday, Oct. 5, 2026

Calling all members of the community!!!

Interested in auditioning for Coffee House?

  1. Figure out what you’d like to do. Any talent is welcome for Coffee House. In the past, we’ve had students, parents, community members and staff members who have sang, played an instrument (sometimes at the same time), danced, did a skit, did a monologue, did a forensics piece, did standup comedy, did magic tricks, etc.
  2. Sign up for Coffee House using the link below (or by registering using your parent portal account). If you are a member of the community or a parent, just make yourself a student record within your family.
  3. Prepare your audition material.
  4. Record your audition. You don’t have to perform the entire piece. However, we do need to know how long your “act” is. So, be sure to do step 5! If you’d prefer to audition “live”, just contact us and we’ll set up an audition. Make sure to submit your video by Sept. 26th!
  5. Fill out the audition form. E-mail it to contact_us@NotJustDance.net
  6. Wait to hear from us as to whether you were accepted into the program.
  7. IF you are accepted, don’t forget to secure your tickets. Everyone will want to get a ticket to this event so you can sit in the room and partake in all of the wonderful goodies that will be prepared for this event.
