Workshop Type: Stage Combat
Workshop Level: Beginner/Level 1
 
Get ready to fall, punch and kick your way through some basic stage combat techniques. Learn the art of unarmed techniques used on the stage. This class will focus on how to perform these moves safely and help you look really awesome in the process. Open to all skill levels. 
 
In Level one students will learn the rules of Stage Combat (that keep everyone safe) and the following stage combat terms:
What is a Fight Director (or fight choreographer)
What is a Fight Captain
What is a Fight Call
 
Level 1 Skills:
–Safety/Terms: Roles, Golden Thread, Cue-Reaction-Action, etc
-Footwork/Ready Stance
-Kick: Front Kick
-Fall: Side, Butt
-Punch: Jab, Roundhouse, Slap
-Reactions: Timing, Vocal Reactions, Knaps (Clap, Snap)
-Block: Side 
-Fall: Front, Spiral
-Knap: Ground/Contact
-Kick: Fan Kick, Roundhouse Kick
-Punch: Uppercut, Hammer Punch
-Shove
-Front Choke
