October 12th – Broadway Jazz

There’s no business like show business! No experience necessary.
October 19th – Fosse
Come learn what Bob Fosse brought to the world of dance! Fosse’s unique jazz dance style was stylish, sexy, and easily recognized. Having grown up in cabaret nightclubs and never feeling like he fit the mold of traditional dance technique, Fosse decided to turn his oddities into his own signature style. Some of his dance trademarks included sultry hip rolls, smooth finger snaps, turned-in pigeon toes and specific, detailed movements. Bob Fosse was the choreographer for Chicago, Pippin, Cabaret and many more! No experience necessary.
October 26th– Creative Movement
Come get in touch with your creative side! Tap into your imagination and expand your thoughts on dance as we explore making dances through games and teamwork activities. This class is perfect for students wanting to expand their creativity from mirroring choreography to forming it themselves. In this course, students will explore different types of body expression, how to translate ideas into physical form and get to express themselves in a brand-new way!
November 2nd – Contemporary Jazz
Looking to get creative? Contemporary jazz is a current form of dance that shares movement characteristics with contemporary modern dance and traditional jazz technique. Evolving as a reaction to the rigid dance techniques of ballet and jazz, contemporary jazz emphasizes natural body movements, expression, flexibility, extension, turns and more improvisation than traditional techniques. A beautiful and challenging style for young dancers! No experience necessary.
November 9th– Salsa/Cha Cha
Get those feet moving in our new Latin inspired course! Salsa is the Spanish word for “sauce” denoting a “spicy” and “hot” flavor to this popular dance style. Just like the sauce, salsa is a delicious mixture of various ingredients and Latin dance styles and is considered the king of Latin dances. Many of the patterns are closely related to those of the Mambo and Cha-cha! Considered the national music and dance of Puerto Rico, Salsa will have you moving and grooving with fancy footwork, new and exciting rhythms, and perhaps, a new and very saucy attitude. The fusion of an Afro-Caribbean beat with enhanced jazz textures results in an aggressive high energy pulse which has become popular everywhere!
November 16th– Jazz Funk/ Hip-Hop
Jazz Funk, also known as “Street Jazz”, is an upbeat class that combines the technical skills of a jazz class with the funky, energetic style of hip-hop. Students will work on flexibility, dance skills, and moving with style. It can be lyrical in the sense of emotional interpretation. At times you may be gracefully flowing though choreography and then BOOM! Hit isolations with sheer intensity! Students will use jazz funk to tell a story with their body. The class consists of an aerobic warm-up, skill development, and fresh, modern choreography. It will leave students feeling confident and energized.
