Get ready for a story full of heart, humor, and school chaos in 13 JR., the energetic musical about growing up and finding where you belong. Follow Evan Goldman as he moves to a new town right before his bar mitzvah and navigates friendship, popularity, and what it really means to fit in. This show is packed with catchy pop-style songs, big ensemble moments, and characters that feel real, funny, and relatable. Ages

11-18

Note: While the age range for this class is 11-18, Not Just Dance reserves the right to change the minimum age for this class, based on registrations in order to create the best possible experience for all students.

Auditions

This is a musical theatre class designed to introduce students to the fundamentals of performance in a fun and supportive environment.
 
Auditions will be held during the first class, August 22, 2026 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm.
 
Requirements:
  • Prepare 32 bars of a song. No accompanist will be provided.
  • Prepare a 1 minute monologue. Please ensure that your monologue is age appropriate. No foul language. 
What to Bring for Auditions:
  • A backing track (instrumental/karaoke version) of the piece you’ve been using to prepare
  • A device to play your track (e.g., phone, tablet, speaker)
  • Appropriate shoes (jazz shoes or sneakers)
  • Fill out the Audition Form.  Bring it, along with a small photo.  (If a resume/headshot is available, please bring that along with the Audition Form). 
Make sure your device is charged and the track is easily accessible for a smooth audition experience.

ALL registered students will participate in the production and will be cast in the show.

Saturday from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm

All tuition and fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. See Policies.

Students are encouraged to enroll in dance classes and in music classes at school or take private voice lessons. More specific requirements may be placed on specific roles.

Fees

  • A registration fee is due at the time of enrollment.
  • A performance fee will be charged on September 1, 2026. This fee includes:
    • A performance t-shirt
    • A Blu-ray of the production
    • Two tickets to the performance
    • Costume cleaning and rental fees

The call time for cast and crew is currently TBD.

Tuition

  • Tuition is divided into equal monthly payments, regardless of how many classes are held in a given month.
    • The first tuition payment will be processed at registration
    • Remaining payments will be charged on the 1st of each month, from September 2026 through February 2027

    Important: This is a performance-based class. Once registered you will not be able to drop the class. parents are responsible for the full tuition balance. See policies for specific information.
